Hello and happy Spring! We have been so busy with competition season and gearing up for our first ever charity fundraiser! Make sure you check out the Dancing for a Cause link under our "News and Media" section for all of the details. Pretty much, we have area favorites dancing for the charity of their choice. So many wonderful people have come together to help put this show on and we couldn't be more excited! Save the date for APRIL 2 at Cullman High School! Show will start at 6pm that evening. Tickets will be sold at the door but you can always purchase your tickets ahead of time from one of our dancers. Just email for details!
As for competition season, we still have one more to go! We will be heading to Murfreesboro, TN in May for Applause Talent! So far, it has been a fantastic competition year. We have really challenged ourselves as a studio and gone up against some of the best studios in the south. Our company dancers have really worked hard and proven to be the beautiful humans they truly are. All of the conventions we have attended have been wonderful and full of mind-opening classes. We especially enjoyed 24SEVEN! We were able to attend 24SEVEN in both Birmingham and ATL this season. We love the hungry talent that is starting to surface here at The Factory!
Hope you have your calendars out because you will need to also mark MAY 28! That's right, it's almost time for another spring showcase! It's unreal to think that this will be our second spring recital! Time sure does fly! This years theme is JET SET and the show will start promptly at 6pm that evening. Tickets will go on sale next month and will only be available online so make sure you snag your tickets! So many exciting things happening for our studio and so many people to thank. We love our dance family <3
Happy Fall! We have been thoroughly enjoying our new building located in the middle of town! If you haven't heard, we are now located at 802 Main Ave NE in Cullman across from Rally's. If you haven't had a chance to come check us out, please do so! We have also welcomed Mr. Clarence Mcdorman to our teaching staff. Clarence is a fabulous individual with a pretty impressive ballet resume. Our dancers have been working hard on technique and our Company girls are finishing choreography for the 2016 competition season. We are also looking forward to the Cullman Fair Parade in a few weeks and 24/seven Dance Convention in early December! I am personally excited to take from Sonja Tayeh. :) We are also gearing up to host the amazing J.V. Goecke in October and are in the process of nailing down our Spring Master Workshop, better known as The Industry. You never know who will show up from So You Think You Can Dance! Check out our picture section for some updated pictures of the new building! Have a great rest of the week everyone and keep groovin'!
So many exciting things are happening this summer here at The Factory! We have our FIRST showcase June 13, technique intensive June 15-19, and Princess Camps June 22-24 and July 20-22! Along with that, TWO of our Company dancers have received summer scholarships to train professionally! Abby Sosa (age 11) will be heading to LA this summer to study with the industry's top choreographers, dance on the Disney stage at Disneyland, and shoot a music video! Chloe Carter (age 12) will be headed to the East Coast where she will study on Broadway and take master classes in NYC! We are SO proud of ALL of our dancers and can't wait to expand our family! Make sure you pre-register to reserve your spot for the 2015-2016 dance session! "Punch the clock, it's time to werk"
Wow! To say our first showcase was a hit may be an understatement! Thanks to EVERYONE involved! Now we are back to focusing on our Company dances. We will head to Chattanooga, TN next weekend to kick off our competition season! Our girls will also be traveling to Birmingham and West Memphis to compete this year. It seems we just can't fit enough events into the months of February and March, haha. This weekend we also have For Kids Sake, a local variety show. We will showcase a few of our Company dances to help raise money for CRMC. Come on out and support a great cause this Saturday, 3:00, at WSCC. We have officially CLOSED registration for our June Showcase due to class sizes. Please check back for summer camp info!
Now, let me tell you a little bit about how we run classes here at The Factory. We are prompt and utilize ALL class time. Our older classes (ages 10+) have been enjoying ankle weight training in ballet and jazz classes. Nohe and I are also in the middle of being certified with Dance Educators of America! Nohe will soon be certified in Jazz and I will be certified in Ballet. So far we have 5 girls on pointe and many potential girls that will start pre-pointe later this year! We also have a fancy fun ab workout we do in jazz classes as well as stretch and strengthening class. These girls are killing it!
We have so many upcoming events to look forward to as well. For Kids Sake auditions, Breakfast with Santa, our Valentine's Day Showcase, and the start of BALLROOM classes November 20! We are pleased to welcome Bobby and Amy Clingan to our studio. They are absolutely superb and I am just thrilled to have them. Also, don't miss Nohe and me performing a Tango routine with our lovely partners Dustyn and Clay at the Stone Bridge Christmas Show December 15! I'm loving this whole ballroom explosion! Have a groovy week everyone! :)
Happy Fall everyone! So far, we have been enjoying an AMAZING start to our first year here at The Factory! Nohe and I cannot thank everyone enough for all of the support and dedication. We have classes filling up and dancers growing and learning every week! It is our goal to have ALL classes (yes, 3/4 year olds as well) perform all of their dances WITHOUT teacher assistants on stage and so far, we are nothing short of impressed with our dedicated dancers. All of our dancers are building confidence and technique skills and we could not be more proud of each and every one of them!
Recently, we have enjoyed master classes with Tennessee Titans Cheerleader Hannah Smith and So You Think You Can Dance Season 9's Janelle Issis. We had an absolute blast at both workshops and now we are looking forward to our Master Workshop with SYTYCD Season 11's Rudy Abrue March 12! Make sure to sign up before classes fill up! Siblings Justin and Marissa Milele will also be joining Rudy!
